HEERF GRANT INFORMATION

  1. American College of Barbering acknowledges that the institution signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement and the assurance that the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50% of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
  2. The total amount of funds that the institution has received from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement [for] Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students is $114,269.00. 50% of the funds $57,135.00 is for the portion of the HEERF Grant.
  3. The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students at American College of Barbering under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act as of the date of submission is $57,315.00 as of the 30-day Report.
  4. 48 is the estimated total number of students at American College of Barbering eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
  5. 19 is the total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
  6. The method(s) used by American College of Barbering to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act are as follows:
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • Have a valid Social Security number
  • Be registered for Selective Services (if male)
  • Be a high school graduate or have a recognized equivalent (such as a GED)
  • Not owe money on a federal student loan
  • Not owe money on a federal grant
  • Did not have a drug conviction while receiving federal student aid
  • Be enrolled as an American College of Barbering student in an eligible financial aid program of study between the dates of March 30, 2020 – May 29, 2020
  • Not on a leave of absence between the dates of March 30, 2020 – May 29, 2020
  • Be maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
  • In attendance at anytime between the dates of March 30, 2020 – May 29, 2020
  • Not on a leave of absence between the dates of March 30, 2020 – May 29, 2020
  • Incurred expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to COVID-19
  • Submit an application to the Director of American College of Barbering. Application deadline is September 25, 2020.
  • 12 students submitted and application by the September 25th deadline and received $1000.00.
  • American College of Barbering announced an additional and final deadline of November 6, 2020.  9 additional students submitted and application.  American College of Barbering divided the remaining available between 19 total students.  Those 19 students received $2,375.52.


7. Any instructions, directions, or guidance provided by the institution to students concerning the Emergency Financial Aid Grants.


The emergency financial aid grants to students are for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus, and students who were enrolled exclusively in online programs would not have expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus.
